We’ve officially named our Capitol-to-Capitol scholarship in honor of Roy Brewer

During the 50th annual Capitol-to-Capitol Chair’s Reception, we had the honor of recognizing Honorary Vice-Chair, Roy Brewer’s long-standing history with Cap-to-Cap. We officially announced that our program scholarship would be named the Roy Brewer Scholarship. A fierce supporter, it is with great pleasure that we honor and recognize his contributions to the legacy of the program.

Fifty years ago, Roy Brewer, designed the Cap-to-Cap origin story – believing in the power of advocacy and the power of our region. A partner at Brewer Lofgren, Roy has been one of the leading land use attorneys in the Sacramento area for approval of complex multi-use projects, including those on brownfield properties, since 1984. He has served as legal counsel, project manager, and advocate for many controversial, high-visibility projects, and has successfully negotiated approvals with regulatory agencies in more than 40 jurisdictions in three states. Roy is well known for helping his clients manage their multi-disciplinary consultant teams and is proactive in deflecting conflict and gaining consensus both from public officials and stakeholders.

The Roy Brewer Scholarship will financially support a Leadership Sacramento participant to attend this annual program.
