Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services

Organization Overview

Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services is dedicated to assisting those in need by alleviating their immediate pain and problems and moving them toward self sufficiency and financial independence. Sacramento Food Bank Family Services has evolved from a food pantry to a provider of services for lifelong Sacramento residents—as well as immigrants and refugees who have chosen to make Sacramento their home. Each client we serve comes to us with a unique set of circumstances. Each also comes with a collective hope: to step out of poverty and into a future that allows them to flourish.

How is COVID-19 impacting Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services?

Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services is being approached by agencies, school districts, local officials, families and individuals who have never needed their services before. They also are undeterred in their mission to feed the 150,000 people per month who regularly rely on their services. As it stands now, they are finding their resources stretched and they urgently recognize the need for the Sacramento community to come together to help feed our neighbors.

How Can I Help?

DONATE: This is a critical time and Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services is seeing increased cost in their operations. They need your help now, more than ever. For every $1 you donate, you can provide 5 meals for a family.

VOLUNTEER: If you are between 10 – 64 years old and don’t have underlying medical conditions, we’d love to have you volunteer. Click here to access volunteer opportunities.

Helping Others

Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services would like to assure you that their number one priority is to provide food access to the community. They understand that due to the nature of this pandemic and the position that many families and individuals will find themselves in during these challenging times, many people will need support from them. If you are a family or individual in need of food, click here. If you plan on visiting one of their Partner Agencies, make sure you call ahead as agencies are subject to modified hours. If you are a Partner Agency or another organization in need of assistance, call (916) 925 – 3240.

Will they be participating in the Big Day of Giving?
