A coalition of economic development advocates in the Sacramento region is developing a big ask for state funding, and they’re looking for input on their proposal.

Later this month, the Prosperity Partnership will launch the first of a series of online webinars featuring information about a $600 million grant program to help regions throughout the state build more inclusive economies in the wake of Covid-19.

“That kind of money changes lives. If we’re going to go for it, we’re going for it, and we really want to do something big that’s going to change the lives of millions of people in our region… It’s about capacity-building, and giving people the best fighting chance to participate in this wealth-building economy, and giving those sectors a fighting chance to have a qualified workforce.” – Metro Chamber President & CEO, Amanda Blackwood

For ideas on how to build that inclusive workforce, the partnership is asking for as many stakeholders as possible to weigh in on the grant proposal. The first workshop will be held on Nov. 18. You can find out more and sign up here.
