Amanda Blackwood, CEO of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, participated in an online press conference where she outlined the Metro Chamber’s support of the Mayoral Accountability and Community Equity Act.  In her comments, Blackwood stated that the Mayoral Accountability and Community Equity Act holds the Chief Executive — in this case, the elected Mayor — responsible and accountable for making efficient decisions around how and where city operations are funded, and how effectively resident and business needs are met.

In speaking on behalf of member business owners and leaders, Blackwood emphasized that during this time of disruption, there is an opportunity to step into upcoming challenges.

“Every day, our business owners and leaders are responding to upcoming challenges by streamlining their operations, adapting to changing environments and consumer behaviors, and critically looking at how best to revamp the ‘old way’ of doing business and stepping into the new normal.  The time is right for our City government to do the same.”
