Over 1,100 Alumni Have Participated in One of the Region’s Oldest Leadership Development Programs
Sacramento, Calif.– Today, Leadership Sacramento – a Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation program, began accepting applications for the 35thcohort of its annual leadership development program.
Founded in 1985, Leadership Sacramento is an interactive, year-long program designed to inform and educate community-minded business and civic leaders on the issues that impact the region’s economy. Since its inception, over 1,100 alumni representing the region’s large and small businesses, non-profits, and various levels of local government have completed the program.
“Leadership Sacramento creates an environment for passionate, community leaders to become more invested in the Capital Region through informative and immersive sessions, and collaboration with their colleagues,” said Metro Chamber Foundation Executive Director and Leadership Sacramento Alumna Talia Kaufman.
Each month, Leadership Sacramento explores a topic of regional importance during a full-day immersive experience. The alumni led program recruits civic leaders, innovators, elected officials and business leaders to provide first-hand accounts and a behind-the-scenes look at the history of the Capital Region.
The program culminates in the completion of a community betterment project, benefitting a local nonprofit. Over the past five years, the classes have invested over $1.3 million in local nonprofits.
