City of Sacramento Task Force to Meet TOMORROW

Metro Chamber Avatar

The City of Sacramento minimum wage debate takes a critical step forward Wednesday with the first “Income Inequality Task Force” meeting. This task force will include representatives from the City Council, organized labor, social service agencies, and business community (including the Metro Chamber), and its charge is to report back to the Council a recommendation that works for Sacramento.

Metro Chamber will advocate on behalf of our members during these discussions, but our efforts will be strengthened when business owners like yourself personally attend and share your stories during the 30 minute public comment section at the end of the meeting.

We know organized labor has been rallying their members to attend, and we want to ensure their stories do not go unanswered.

The first of four public meetings for this task force will be Wednesday, July 29 from 4:00 – 6:00pm at Sacramento City Hall (915 I Street, Council Chambers). Public comment will occur from roughly 5:30 – 6:00 pm.

We need your story. If you are available to attend tomorrow evening or a future meeting, please contact us. There are also several ways to get involved even if you are unable to attend in person. It is critical that the members of this task force hear your story as they deliberate on this important subject.

Thank you for taking the time. I sincerely hope we can add your voice to this important discussion.
