2023 Leadership Sacramento class project update

Metro Chamber Avatar

Earlier this month, the Leadership Sacramento Class of 2023 hosted a workday at the Food Literacy Center. The Food Literacy Center is this year’s class community betterment project and includes working alongside Food Literacy Center staff to enhance the student farm by constructing a butterfly garden, pizza garden, and oven and raising funds towards the acquisition of a food truck to allow the Food Literacy Center to take their curriculum mobile.

During the workday, class members worked to remove debris for the future pizza garden that will be filled with fresh vegetables for the Food Literacy Center students. This pizza garden will be used to create nourishing recipes and support the Food Literacy’s Centers mission to inspire kids to eat their vegetables.

The class is just $40K away from their fundraising goal which will make their project a reality for the students of the Food Literacy Center. You can still donate to support this year’s project and the Food Literacy Center.
