Through the Metro Chamber’s Advocacy department, the region’s business community aligns around shared policy principles and priorities. By leading with a collective voice, members work together to advance and strengthen the region’s business environment, unlock opportunities, deliver needed solutions, and fuel economic growth.
Every year, the Metro Chamber identifies key issues that affect our regional economy and champions these priorities at the local, state, and federal levels on behalf of our members. This unified approach ensures that business interests remain at the heart of policy decisions, leading to meaningful outcomes that benefit our region.
Our policy priorities are the product of ongoing conversations with member employers through the Metro Chamber’s Public Policy Council, which establishes priorities that reflect our commitment to:

Capitol-to-Capitol
To maximize impact, the Metro Chamber leads the annual Capitol-to-Capitol program (Cap-to-Cap). For over 50 years, Cap-to-Cap has been the largest chamber-led delegation in the nation to lobby Congress regionally, bringing together more than 400 business leaders, policy experts, and elected officials to Washington, D.C. each spring. Together, our region’s stakeholders advocate for policies that promote economic vitality, business growth, and quality of life across our six-county region.
Cap-to-Cap utilizes regional cooperation and leadership to identify, prioritize, and advocate for the federal domestic policy and resources necessary to create economic and civic prosperity for California's Capital Region. Bringing the region’s leaders together—business, labor, community, and government—to advocate in Washington for our shared priorities gives our region a unique competitive advantage by providing the platform for business and civic leaders to maintain important connections with federal representatives and keep our region’s priorities top-of-mind.
