Have you ever heard of a "Tweet of Intent"? Neither have we…until now.
The Sacramento Metro Chamber and the 2013 Leadership Sacramento Class are excited to announce the opening of this year's Leadership Sacramento Nonprofit Project application process…which will be done via Twitter. Nonprofits will be asked to send a 140 character tweet that creatively articulates their need, their goal and how they would engage/utilize the Leadership Sacramento class. The class is comprised of 36 professionals from a variety of businesses from around the region. The "Tweet of Intent" will allow for the 2013 Class to select finalists and make a decision on which nonprofit project they will choose.
To be eligible, nonprofits must be members in good standing of the Sacramento Metro Chamber or be willing to become a member, as well as have their own 501c3 status.
The Tweet of Intent application will open on January 11th and close on January 19th at 8 a.m. Tweets must be sent to @Metro_Chamber with hashtag #TweetOfIntent. Until then…get those tweets ready!
ABOUT LEADERSHIP SACRAMENTO
Leadership Sacramento, founded in 1985, is a program of the Sacramento Metro Chamber, which develops community-minded business and civic leadership. It is a year-long interactive program, limited to 35 participants each year, that provides a behind-the-scenes understanding of the issues that impact the region's economic prosperity, quality of life and culminates in the completion of a community betterment project. 2011 marked a milestone in the history of the Leadership Sacramento program -- it celebrated the 25th graduating class.
The Leadership Sacramento program is designed to accomplish four distinct goals:
EXPOSE PARTICIPANTS to the processes, programs, opportunities and challenges that impact Sacramento's six-county region.
STIMULATE INTEREST in community activities and encourage engagement in local and regional affairs.
- CREATE A NETWORK of community-minded leaders who will lead in a spirit of collaboration that fosters regional prosperity.
- PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS with a behind-the-scenes view of regional issues and give them access to the top business, civic and community leaders who play integral roles in the Sacramento region.
Individuals are considered and selected for the Leadership Sacramento program through an open application process. Applications for the Leadership Sacramento program are open to the public each fall, with the participants for each upcoming class selected before the close of each calendar year.
