Former Congressional Budget Office Director
to talk budget reform, national debt at Leadership Luncheon
A distinguished policy adviser to President Bush and the former director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office Douglas Holtz-Eakin will be the featured speaker at the Tuesday Leadership Luncheon in the Cannon Caucus Room.
Holtz-Eakin served as the chief economist of the President's Council of Economic Advisers during 2001-2002 and helped formulate policies to address the recession and aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks. From 2003-2005, he was the sixth director of the CBO | Bio

2011 Program Focus
With a Republican majority taking over the House of Representatives and massive cutting of the federal budget likely, advocacy for the Sacramento region's infrastructure and jobs programs becomes an imperative in 2011.
Volunteer leaders are looking for maximum participation on Cap-to-Cap teams--in setting and researching priorities before the May 7-11 event and in Washington, D.C. Nearly 300 are expected to participate as delegates this year.

About Cap-to-Cap
Since 1895, Metro Chamber volunteers have worked to improve the economy and enhance the quality of life in the greater Sacramento region. The annual Cap-to-Cap program is one of many Metro Chamber activities that brings together the region's business, labor and government leaders to build consensus for important regional priorities.
Cap-to-Cap is the largest chamber of commerce program of its kind in the nation. Nearly 300 delegates are participating in 2011.
